The hotel, restaurant and house were built in 1995.
In 2002 a Brazilian construction company built the badly needed road project Rioverde-Borbon and lodged the managing team in our installations.
Now we can boast excellent roads. The roundtrip from Quito - Ibarra - San Lorenzo – Rioverde – Control "San Mateo“ – Los Bancos – Quito is actually one of the best maintained routes in a culturally and landscapewise diverse country.
We are located on the main road which goes into Esmeraldas. Buses pass every 30 minutes to and from the airport, Esmeraldas and many surrounding cities.
A new bridge is now being installed near the airport which will make the trip into Esmeraldas about 30 minutes making Briza Oceano the ideal location for clients who want a relaxing atmosphere but still be close to a major city.
In 2005 everything was remodeled. All refrigerators and freezers, blenders, cookers, etc for the restaurant were replaced.
Televisions, ceiling fans and DVD´s were bought for all of the rooms and cabins.
A pool table, futbolin, ping pong, weights and darts were added to the game room.
Electricity and lights were installed in the lookout tower. Now our clients can enjoy music on the beach at night, enjoy a delicious encocada dinner or sit around and relax.
Hammocks have also been put around the property for clients who want to relax, sleep or read a good book.
Electricity has been installed in the majority of the Esmeraldas province but there are still many areas and homes that do not have electricity. Here at Briza Oceano we are fully equiped with electricity for the entire property. An industrial generator has also been added to the property in the evernt there is a loss of electricity.
Water lines is another thing that many countries take for granted. There are many areas that purchase water from trucks that bring in water to the properties. In January 2008, Palestina and RioVerde started the installation of water lines throughout the entire town. Here at Briza Oceano, we have a complete water system and piping to all cabins, rooms, house, restaurant and pool. In addition to the connectiion to the main water system, we also have 3 sisternas on the property for additional water.
